Well now it is my daughter’s birthday and the theme is going to be fun:
Let’s the greatest show on earth begin!
After spending a bit of time on Pinterest we found cute animal jars to make. After painting the lids and the little plastic animals with acrylic , we just super-glued them together to have those beautiful Mason Jars!
We will use them as Lollybags for the guests.
After reading a book about optical illusions, we made a Thaumatrope with a kangaroo wearing boots and a top hat. And who wants a bit of wikipedia to start the day? 😉
“A Thaumatrope is a toy that was popular in the 19th century. A disk with a picture on each side is attached to two pieces of string. When the strings are twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to blend into one.”

We had a few plank of timber in the shed sitting there waiting to be used. So we used the drill, the saw and sanded them to make material for a very special cubby house. You can built it in different shapes and pack it away for easy storage. If you want to make one, don’t use any timber (as us…) the better the material, the better looking and the more solid it will be. But don’t forget it has to be light for the children to build it themselves.
Avec des planches de pin qui traînaient dans le garage, nous avons scié, percé et poncé pour fabriquer une cabane amovible. Bon si vous souhaitez en faire une, utilisez un bois de qualité (pas comme nous…) mais n’oubliez pas d’en prendre un léger pour que les enfants construisent leur cabane eux-mêmes.

On a fait un peu chauffer la machine à coudre aujourd’hui, mon fils se promenant un peu partout avec ses outils pour réparer un peu tout 😉 il lui fallait une ceinture d’urgence ! 2 rectangles et une longue bande de tissu feront l’affaire.
My son really needed something to carry his tools around ! He was really happy to sew it with me.
Pour ma part il me fallait un grand tablier bien couvrant pour aller avec le tour de potier acheter pour le prix de 3 petits pois…j’expérimente la glaise avec une potière à la retraire et j’espère vous en montrer plus bientôt.
Je n’ai pas pris de patron mais j’ai essayer de reproduire un tablier vu sur le site JapanCoutureAddicts. Avec deux pinces sur le devant et deux boutons derrière.
For my part I needed an apron to go with the potter’s wheel (buy for the price of 3 greenpeas).So I made a big one and now experiment the clay with a retired potter and I wish I will be able to show you more of it soon.
En attendant, ma fille monopolise l’outil de façon très créative….

Tout va trop vite en ce moment, on a fait des petites choses avec les enfants mais pas de quoi faire un post, alors je me suis dit que je pouvais faire un condensé des petites idées du moment:
Après avoir regarder -Merlin l’Enchanteur-, il nous fallait des épées et vite: quelques feuilles de papier journal feront bien l’affaire, avec un peu de papier collant et un ruban, voilà des enfants heu-reux!

Et puis un peu plus tard voyant mes outils de sculpture, l’envie d’essayer étant irrésistible, les voilà creusant et gravant dans des bougies:

Do you remember this fishing game I sewed 2 years ago?? Recently, I failed under the pressure of my little one, and I made 2 “real” fishing poles, with sticks. Thanks to one of my friend who gave me the adress of Made by Joel Blog where he built 2 fishing poles, there are much more simple than mine, why do I always complicate things? Well let’s look at the pictures because there is no word to describe the shark fishing or the sea horse fishing!!
Ah que le temps passe vite…vous souvenez vous de cette pêche à la ligne que j’avais cousu il y a bientôt 2 ans?? Et bien j’ai craqué sous la pression du petit d’homme, et j’ai fabriqué 2 “vrai” cannes à pêche, avec des bâtons.
Une amie m’a donné l’adresse d’un blog extra Made by Joel, ou il a conçu des cannes à pêche avec des branches et des bobines de fils. Je me suis vraiment compliqué la vie avec les miennes…La suite en images car il n’y a pas de mot pour d’écrire la pêche aux requins ou encore la pêche à l’hippocampe !!
