After so many years building, sewing, painting, carving, tinkling toys and games for my children, they now do it themselves! The rule under our roof is; -start with what you have-. Having enough bits of timber in the shed, my son (11) decided to cut out some lightsabers for himself, his sister and his friends! I let you imagine the number of sabre fight we had at our house, at the park, in the bush, at the beach… in only a few weeks.

I love to see him draw and cut the shapes and drilling for the ”light blade”. My suggestion of carving each handle and sanding them till it’s cylindrical didn’t have much success…so here it is, raw and already well used:

“May the force be with you.” 😉

Voici de quoi occuper les petites mains de vos enfants qui seront tellement fière d’offrir un collier de perles de laine entièrement fabriqué par eux. Avec un petit bout de laine non tissée que l’on trempe dans de l’eau savonneuse, il suffit de la faire tourner dans ses mains pour former une boule de laine compacte et la faire sécher. Avec une aiguille et du fil à broder, percer les perles de laine pour former le collier voulu. Amusez-vous bien!

The Children would be delighted to make a pretty necklace like this one, they just need to dip a little bit of wool into soapywater and turn it in their hands to form a nice bead of wool. Let it dry and then you just need to use an embrodery needle and some thread to pearce the beads and make the necklace. Enjoy!

Alors voilà, l’homme a bien voulu me prêter sa scie circulaire pour que je puisse à mon tour compléter le jeux de train en bois des enfants.J’y ai mis du cœur et du temps pour leur faire une découpe de leur pays de naissance et un port avec 2 petits bateaux.

J’en ai fait d’autres et les ai mis dans ma boutique sur ETSY et maintenant sur MADE IT (Australia).Qu’en pensez-vous?
